About Sam

Sam Stricklin is the artist and owner of Ink Row Tattoo Studio, an award-winning professional tattoo artist originally from Mansfield, Ohio. His journey into tattooing began in 2017 with his first apprenticeship, which was unexpectedly cut short due to a motorcycle accident. Though forced to step away, Sam’s passion for art and tattooing never faded.

Years later, Sam met his wife, Tristan, and began building a family. In 2019, he took a job as a corrections officer. After an unfortunate mistake, Sam was arrested in 2020 for conveying contraband into a prison and served a short sentence. During this period, he experienced a profound turning point—one that reshaped his perspective, values, and purpose. What could have ended his ambitions instead became the foundation for true redemption and growth.

In 2021, Sam recommitted himself fully to tattooing and began his career as a professional tattoo artist, relentlessly seeking knowledge, mentorship, and growth wherever he could find it. Since then, his dedication and work ethic have earned him multiple awards for his artwork and tattoos, as well as features in several magazines.

With the unwavering support of his wife, along with encouragement from family and close friends, Sam made the bold decision in 2024 to open his own studio. That vision became reality when Ink Row Tattoo Studio officially opened its doors in April 2025.

Now a husband, father, and business owner, Sam continues to grow as both an artist and a person. His story is one of resilience, accountability, and transformation—driven by a constant pursuit of excellence and the belief that growth can be found in every new day.
